Gastonia: Citadel of Class Struggle in the New South is a description of the Loray Mill Strike by veteran Party editor and labor leader, William F. Dunne. The strike led by the National Textile Workers Union, member of the Trade Union Unity League. This work chronicles the fight of thirteen strikers wrongfully charged with murder after the death of a police officer in the raid of the strike encampment in June; through the murder of striker Ella Mae Wiggins which ultimately crushed the strike in September.
